OSCAR SALOMONSSON

Oscar Salomonsson was born and raised in Stockholm. He was educated at the Royal Swedish Ballet School and he is today a principal dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet. He joined The Royal Swedish Ballet in 1997. During the years 2004-2007 Mr. Salomonsson was a principal dancer in Nacho Duato’s Compania Nacional de Danza in Madrid. When he re-joined the Royal Swedish Ballet he was rewarded Dancer of the Year in 2009.

Mr. Salomonsson has been dancing many of the great classical roles such as the Prince in Sleeping Beauty (Grey), Prince of Cendrillon (Maillot), Prince in the Nutcracker (Isberg), Franz in Coppelia (Ribbaut), Colas in La fille mal gardée (Ashton), Lensky in Onegin (Cranko), Principal Couple in Scenes de Ballet (Ashton), The Chosen One in The Rite of Spring (Bejart), Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Isberg) among others.

Mr Salmonsson has also been working with many of today’s renowned choreographers such as Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Örjan Andersson, Pontus Lidberg, Alonso King, Alexander Ekman and others. But foremost Mr. Salomonsson has been working closely with Mats Ek. Swanlake, Rättika, Solo for Two, Julia & Romeo, Pas de Dance are some of the works Mr Salomonsson have danced by Mats Ek.
